A long time ago,
longer now than it seems,
I saw a beautiful girl,
Every night in my dreams,
I met that girl several months ago now,
She had to be mine,
Though I didn’t know how,
The days went by,
Opportunities came,
And I never thought,
I’d feel the same,
Then my confidence went,
Opportunities gone,
Then I decided,
it was time to move on,
I asked someone out,
But it didn’t feel right,
Because I would think of that girl,
night after night,
so we broke up,
now we are just friends,
I just wanted to see that girl again,
I walked into the room,
She was just standing there,
The same perfect body,
The same perfect hair,
My heart skipped a beat,
And then a few more,
I could no longer stand it,
I jumped back out the door,
I calmed myself down,
As I walked back through,
And at that moment I realized,
That the beautiful girl was you,
This changed everything you see,
For I did not know if you liked me,
Then I asked you out and you said yes,
And I promised you I’d do my best,
So many things I wish to say,
That I could not fit into one day,
